The four elements that cause coffee to break down are – heat, light, air and moisture.
To keep your coffee fresh, you’ll need to store it in an airtight container or a special Merlo Coffee tin or bag.
Our tins and bags are equipped with a one-way valve to let the gas released by fresh coffee out, without letting moisture or other gases in.
If you live in a hot and/or humid region your beans are best kept in a fridge or frost-free freezer.
If stored correctly, whole beans will keep their freshness for about six weeks.
Once ground, this is reduced to two or three weeks – a perfect excuse to buy yourself a grinder and grind your beans as you need them!
