Have your beer and drink your coffee too

There’s a new beer in town and it’s infused with your favourite coffee.

Pot Shot Ale by Merlo has been invented in partnership with Tamborine Mountain’s Fortitude Brewing, bringing you a refreshing combination of fruity ale and Kenyan coffee.

“Kenyan coffee also has fruity flavours, so it really suits the light style of beer being used,” Dean Merlo said.

“The new Pot Shot Ale will be eight percent coffee and we will be using a cold drip method so the coffee will have a really clean taste.”

Dean and Merlo CEO James Wilkinson wanted to create an innovative, unique drink that suits the taste buds of Queenslanders.

Drinkers will get more of a coffee aftertaste with Pot Shot Ale than a big, bold punch of coffee flavour.

Pot Shot Ale will be served at the Hunting Club marquee at Brisbane’s 2018 Regional Flavours festival, running on 21st and 22nd July, then at Merlo Up Late evenings at the Fortitude Valley Torrefazione from late July.

Merlo is thrilled to be the official coffee partner of the Regional Flavours for the third year running.

If you’re visiting the festival, be sure to stop by some of the expert sessions at the Queensland Taste Stage and Marketplace.

On Saturday, Frith will shake up a classic espresso martini and a popcorn coffee cocktail.

And on Sunday Merlo’s resident coffee expert, Jess Burke and ‘I Heart Brownies’ owner Lulu Purnell join forces to explore the complements of pairing coffee with brownies.
