What do you love most about being a dad?
It’s about loving humans more than you love yourself.
What’s the hardest part about being a dad?
Testing that love in all kinds of ways.
What is one of your fondest memories of fatherhood?
Witnessing the birth of my boys was the best two days of my life, followed closely by their respective head wetting ceremonies at the Local Bowlo complete with cigars.
What’s the craziest/funniest thing your child has done on your watch?
Nicky was a wanderer so always trying to keep tabs on him in shopping centres has been challenging with some code yellows being called!!
How has coffee helped you through fatherhood?
It’s supported me in many ways, but through early mornings after long nights you can’t beat it!!
Why do you love being a dad?
Cuddles.
What’s the hardest part about being a dad?
For me, when they’re not well. When you see your kids struggling with their health and you can’t do anything about it.
What is one of your fondest memories of fatherhood?
My first being born, it was definitely something to remember.
What’s the craziest/funniest thing your child has done?
I was playing cricket on the beach with all four of my kids. Two hours in, I realised they were all missing as four different surf lifesaver buggies drove towards me returning each of them.
How has coffee helped you during fatherhood?
I find coffee really calming – coffee helps me to keep calm.
What do you love most about being a dad?
The endless entertainment my girls provide and their absolute disinterest in having anything resembling a serious conversation that lasts longer than three minutes! Also that they refer to the 1980’s and 1990’s as “back in the olden days when you were a kid, dad”.
What’s the hardest part about being a dad?
Wondering if I’m doing enough to help them find their way through this whole being a kid and growing up thing.
What is one of your fondest memories of fatherhood?
Pancake Sundays. It started off with me making pancakes on Sunday’s when the girls were little. Now the girls have kicked me out, make the batter, set the table, cut strawberries, lemon, put out sugar, cook up the pancakes and love it. I still have to do the dishes though. That’s next on the list to palm off!
What’s the craziest/funniest thing your child has done on your watch?
Well, there is a difference between what I think is funny compared to Mum! When Mum says “What were you thinking?”, it usually means Dad has been having fun with the girls. My favourite would have been Adele when she was 2 and we were on a plane. She said “I need poo”, hopped out of her aisle seat, pulled down her pants and nappy, squatted down in the aisle and got ready for business. We stopped her in the nick of time. I can still remember the looks on the other passengers faces!
How has coffee helped you through fatherhood?
There was a period where we didn’t have a full night sleep for 18 months. If I had my blood tested it would have come back as 50% caffeine/ 50% blood. Aside from oxygen, it was the next most important element for survival. Now coffee helps me to look interested at 7am standing on the sidelines in the cold and rain when it’s netball season and game time!
What do you love most about being a dad?
Watching them grow into fine young adults, and seeing my influence in that process.
What’s the hardest part about being a dad?
Not giving them everything they want, but hopefully everything they need.
What is one of your fondest memories of fatherhood?
Too many to list. All the milestones – from birth to baptisms, birthdays and graduations.
Finally the youngest turns 18 the day before Fathers’ day!
What’s the craziest/funniest thing your child has done on your watch?
One (of many) that springs to mind is Liam getting his head stuck in a wooden chair, still can’t figure out how he managed it!
How has coffee helped you through fatherhood?
Taught me focus, passion & dedication to my craft, which I think I’ve passed on to my kids.
What do you love most about being a dad?
Being surrounded by so much love all day everyday. They’re are definitely not afraid to show it.
What’s the hardest part about being a dad?
Dealing with their relentless energy!!
What is one of your fondest memories of fatherhood?
So many moments I actually can’t pick one. I’m very grateful to be able to experience fatherhood.
What’s the craziest/funniest thing your child has done on your watch?
Being asked by another parent at the park if they were my kids over there as the 3 of them had their pants down washing themselves under the dog tap laughing their heads off.
How has coffee helped you through fatherhood?
I honestly don’t think I wouldn’t be standing here without it!
Why do you love being a dad?
Coming home every night to my little boy – he’s three months old.
What’s the hardest part about being a dad?
Lack of sleep, definitely.
What is one of your fondest memories of fatherhood?
Bringing my son home for the first time.
What’s the craziest/funniest thing your child has done?
When my son cried for eight hours straight.
How has coffee helped you during fatherhood?
It’s the only thing that has helped in the three months so far!
