It feels a little lonely in here.

Let's change that.

Merlo goes blue for autism

Every coffee counts. That’s the message from Merlo Coffee after raising $3,791 for Autism Queensland on World Autism Awareness Day recently.

Today Merlo Coffee representatives joined with families and students from the Autism Queensland Brighton School on their annual Brighton Blue Walk and presented a wonderful blue cheque for the amount raised to the school.

World Autism Awareness Day was on Saturday April 2 and Merlo Coffee donated $1 for every coffee sold to Autism Queensland.

Autism Queensland CEO Rod Cameron thanked Merlo Coffee for their continued support for Go Blue for Autism.

“Autism Queensland relies on community support to complement the funding we receive from the Queensland and Australian Governments, and we are thrilled that Merlo Coffee were able to be involved again this year. Merlo Coffee’s generous donation will help purchase iPads for students at Autism Queensland’s school at Brighton,” he said.

The Brighton Blue Walk is an annual highlight for the school community as each April students, staff and parents dress in blue, wear blue face paint and carry Go Blue for Autism banners for a walk from the school at 136 North Road to the RAAF Park on the Sandgate foreshore.
